On or around the 27th October 2009 the new Streetlife Photography website went live. Its been 3 months of design, development, trial and error (lots of errors actually), but now its here... LIVE and LOUD!
My old site has been retired and many thanks to Ronnie, Tom and the team at Amazing Internet for 3 wonderful years, but its time to move on, so many more thanks to Dave MacDonald and his team at Big Front Door and Mandy O'Donnell at Treesholm Studios for all the hard work they put in. And many thanks to Lesley for putting up with me burning a couple of extra deliveries of midnight oil to populate the pages.

I'm particularly pleased with the Gallery (Portfolio) and Slideshow functionality which uses an embedded product called SlideShow Professional. The level of flexibility of integration with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop means that there's no more re-sizing images, creating staging areas and multiple frustrations with failing file uploads. SSPro just sucks it all in and displays it when and where you want it, on demand. Moreover, I now have music capability on an album-by-album basis and the opportunity to mix video and stills in the same album. I'm excited at the prospect of getting to grips with all this and I hope that over the coming months I'll get the hang of it.

I've also added new e-commerce and proofing functionality from Zenfolio. After researching the offers out there I trialled Zenfolio and felt that its flexible user interface and sophisticated pricing, checkout and fulfillment options put it head and shoulders above anything else. Zenfolio is also embedded in my site, and as they are about to launch a major new release I'm expecting that very soon no-one will see the joins!
