The SWPP's premier competition is its Monthly Image awards where photographers from all disciplines submit their best images each month and compete against their peers. In August 2010, Brian submitted three images in three separate wedding categories and was awarded bronze status for each of them. Master photographers regularly win Gold awards, but for most LSWPP and ASWPP accredited photographers, Bronze and Silver represent the status they aspire to, so this represents, for Brian, a proud moment in his career as a wedding photographer.

Climate Change Protest - Arrest

Police arrest A Climate Change protester - taken on Apple's iPhone 3Gs

Regardless of what your views on RBS are on many subjects, they are not the exclusive bank of oil companies and resource miners. So, apart from some publicity for all concerned the whole climate change protest thingy in Edinburgh in August 2010 was simply a minor itch that most residents and visitors thought was a Fringe show. Anyway, "protesting against climate change" seems to me to be about as useful as protesting against night following day!

Summer weddings are in full swing despite the weather in Scotland being "unpredictable" at the very least. Summer weddings kicked off in May and I've got bookings through to October then it tails off a bit as autumn takes hold. There's still a few weekends throughout the summer when I'm available for those last minute bookings. Check out the featured weddings on my blog for June and July; Sarah and Gary in June and Jess and Scott in July.

Streetlife Photography will be featured in an up-coming Weddings Supplement in the Scotsman newspaper in June 2010. This 16-page supplement is a must for all 2010 and 2011 brides looking to snap up their wedding services and Streetlife Photography will be running a special offer in conjunction with the publication of the supplement.

I've been spending some of the winter weeks drawing together my on-line presence - that's Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, LinkedIn, this website and a few other places out there where Streetlife Photography exists! However, this exercise isn't by any means a one-off; it has to be re-visited constantly and there are key content sites which have to be updated with new and exciting images.
