On Sunday, April 11th, 2010 Trevor Yerbury hosted the latest in his round of "Shoot in the City" workshops, this time with a wedding theme. Trevor and Faye were gracious enough to put up with six of Scotland's finest wedding photographers and to impart tips, techniques and generally give us the benefit of their experience. Many thanks to them and to my colleagues, all of whom I met for the first time. To see more of Trevor and Faye's work check out Yerbury Studio.
This workshop had as models, the luscious Aisha and the suave Steven, both of whom I've worked with before. On a workshop shoot I get the opportunity to experiment with posing, light, angles and different locations and much of this is seen in the slideshow. As a photographer, shooting a "live" wedding can be challenging because its not all about the photographs; you have to adjust, compromise and adapt to the flow of the day, but still try to get in all the shots the bride and groom want - but in less time. The best way to achieve this outcome is to use workshops like this to experiment - so that come the real day you don't have to waste time setting up shots that won't work out.
