Celebrity Shoot - Lucy Pargeter, aka Chaz Dingle from Emmerdale

Ocassionally, I get to do something different and its gigs like this that make being a photographer so much fun. On Saturday, 28th August I was asked to attend the opening of a new retail store for Poundland, the value brand shopping chain. They had organised for Lucy Pargeter (or Chaz Dingle if you watch Emmerdale) to officially open the shop and be on hand to sign autographs for customers, hand out vouchers and generally be a personality.

Wedding - Jess and Scott (Round II)
Date: July 25th 2010.

Location: Edinburgh.

Premium wedding packages include a second day shoot where we all get the chance to relax and can get to some of the locations in town that weren't possible on the wedding day. Much of wedding photography that makes it into photographers websites (and wedding photography competitions) is post-wedding-day shoot and this is because the wedding day isn't all about the photographer (Really?!). Any pro-wedding snapper will tell you that exclusive time with the bride & groom on the day is limited simply because photography is only part of the big event. This is why reportage is so prevalent - it give the snapper something to do when he/she can't get the brides attention!

Location: The Balmoral Hotel, Princes Street, Edinburgh

This is a temporary blog entry as I've just finished the first pass of Jess and Scott's images, but it was such a special day, such a special couple and a special set of images that I had to get some up on the website to let folks see them. The full gallery will be up in about a month after Jess agrees on the album images and we work through the proofing and DVD choices.

I usually put my blog images in through Slideshow Pro Director and a Flash control but that takes a bit of time to do, so this time I've just embedded the images directly. Telling the story of the day in 16 images.

Location: Park Circus Registry Office, Kelvingrove Museum, Queens Park Bowling Club

More than a special occasion this one, my own daughter's wedding! A lesson in how to be the father of the bride and the wedding photographer at the same time. We all had a fantastic day, the weather was warm and sunny, we picnic'd in the grounds at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow, then held a big party into the night at Queens Park Bowling Club before seeing the happy couple off to their honeymoon in Canada.
